The ongoing accessibility case involving Domino’s (opens in a new window) that has been dragged through the US lawcourts is almost a textbook example of how to damage your reputation and brand. The Domino’s brand is now tainted as a large corporation who doesn’t care about disabilities; we certainly don’t envy the task ahead for the Domino’s PR department.
So, you’ve got a brand new shiny website with AA accessibility. Or perhaps you’ve been through a recent exercise to make it more accessible because you need to meet a certain compliance deadline related to your sector.
Now you have a website with better accessibility the question is – how do you keep your website accessible? And if you’re not even at that stage how do you start that journey to get the accessible website you want and need?
When asked whether their website is truly accessible, off the record, many digital managers will reply that they really want it to be, but there needs to be more work done. Or they might say they’re not sure, but they (strongly) suspect not.
